WIFI survey questionnaire

Following questions can be used for design/configuration before starting a wifi project. It is easy to change the design in the planning stage of project but difficult to change the design during the deployment stage, so it is important to gather as much information as possible in the design stage.


Questionnaire

1. Business Justification
·  New implementation? Or replacing existing wireless infrastructure? Or both?
·  What is the main purpose (e.g. Quality improvement, Efficiency improvement, Cost reduction, Extend production, Organizational continuity, etc)?
2. Please define what is to be included in the WLAN design project and what is not (SOW)
·  Predictive Site Survey?
·  Design WLAN network?
·  Implementation?
·  Post Site Survey?
·  Verification test?
·  Purchased PSP program?
3. Please provide existing topology or map or floor plan for entire network if available (more detail, much better).

4. Please provide current Channel, Signal strength & Radio information (in case of integration/replacement project)

5. Which services will be used in the wireless network? (please elaborate each service as detail as possible)

6. All APs will be installed at indoor? Is there any plan to install AP in outdoor?

9. Do you need a SSID for guest? If yes, which authentication method do you plan to use?

11. Approximately, how many end devices will join to wireless network? (If possible how many per SSID or an area)

16. Is there NTP server in your network? If yes, what is the IP address?

17. Is there syslog server in your network? If yes, what is the IP address?

18. Is NAC integration required? (Do you have plan to integrate in the future?)

19. For user authentication, is there any Radius or AD (LDAP) server? (if yes, please specify the Shared Secret also)
